Guillain-Barre syndrome
In 2019 Gene was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome, which affected his nerves, sense of balance, and caused numbness in his arms, fingertips, and feet. He went from being healthy and strong to not being able to walk or hold a pen. Doctors weren’t much help and couldn’t provide an answer as to if he would recover or not. He went to physical therapy for several months to relearn how to walk and recover some motor skills. Since then it’s been a long process of repairing the nerves, which brought him to our office. Gene says that in under a year of being under neurological-based chiropractic care, he is nearly 100% recovered and has regained almost all of the feeling in his arms and fingertips. At 75, he says his balance is very good and he has also been able to reduce his medication of Gabapentin by half.
